Takin' A Break

July 4th, Day 7: So after accumulating 31 and a half miles of walking over the past 5 days, we thought it'd be best to give our bodies a break and straighten up our messy apartment. We spent their day doing every day chores like taking out the trash, doing laundry, straightening up the apartment and getting groceries, but of course everything had a little flair to it because it's Paris ;) We picked up dinner at Picard and stopped in at the boulangerie on our way back where we grabbed salmon quiches and a baguette for lunch. Both were extremely delicious, of course. I think words like fluffy, cheesy, and buttery were thrown around when describing our meal. After our chores were done, we spent a relaxing evening at the Luxembourg garden, taking in the scenes and enjoying the weather. Ali wrote in her journal and read while Maddie painted the palace with fireworks in the back for a little fourth of July flair. We both keep forgetting it's even a holiday today because frankly, we're not in America and the French really just don't care. We decided to leave at the perfect moment because as we were already heading out the police at the park started blowing their whistles directing everyone to leave because the park was closing. Back at the apartment, we ate dinner with Robert (Peter was with his mother) and talked about horoscopes, dreams, space, and everything in between. Overall, a very necessary relaxing day.

  1. You two are going to be 'bread' experts when you return. Making m hungry with all the bread-eating photos.
