July 10th, Day 13: We accommodated for the heat wave today heading over to Rue Mouffetard where we got some beautiful rose shaped ice cream! It was very delicious with so many choices, we both decided it was only necessary to get rose flavored. As we enjoyed our ice cream. we headed over to Le Paradis des Fruits for lunch and drinks. Thanks Sami for the great recommendation! We sat on the second level with window seats where we cold view the Notre Dame and the flash mob going on down below. After both of us were refueled, we walked over to le Chatlet des Halles, a new partially under construction shopping center, where we weaved in and out of stores killing time before our 6:05 viewing of Alice through the looking glass. The main Motifs in the movie were family and time. We both found these concepts very relevant to our lives in Paris because we do miss and love our family and time just seems to be flying away. We started out with a peaceful walk, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and grabbed ourselves some crepes, but once we crossed the Seine, bars were overflowing with excited football fans preparing for the France vs. Portugal Euro2016 final. We grabbed some beers and put on some face paint, we were ready for the final! Robert treated us to the top floor apartment that has a much larger T.V. than we have. We pumped to watch the game, then slowly faded as no one scored till about 2 hours in... SPOILERS: Portugal won 1-0. We had a whole gang of Portugal fans conglomerated outside on the street, so we went out on the balcony and watched as the traffic drove and honked by as the Portugal fans loudly celebrated their win. Night life in Paris is quite mesmerizing. The French really do love their sports.
